Saw this notice on the Vistalmar blog this morning & I got an email from Steve. We had talked about it last weekend & they made the decision. Quite a few people have emailed to tell them they weren't coming & they are going for a much shorter time . Hopefully it will come back bigger & better in 2011!
"To all our loyal friends of the Barracuda Bash: We regretfully want to inform you all that we are postponing the 2010 bash, due to the economy. It will return next year( 2011) in Feb. bigger and better then ever. We are sorry but their is no other way; many thanks and see you all next year in Feb 2011."
We will be on Isla Jan/feb 2010--see you then--The Bash will happen again in 2011.
Originally drawn to Isla out of curiousity. What is this Baracuda Bash of which you speak?? Will continue to go back to Isla for the people, good times are where you make them. See you all in January. Sail fishing anyone?
ReplyDeleteIts the hotel vistalmars handline barracuda bash.It has been held for the last 14 years straight.you pay to enter and you get a tee shiret,a boat and capt. beer,soda,water and you go out and fish for four hours and try to catch barracuda with nothing but a handline.You fish two days four hours each day and the the secound night we have a party where you get dinner and all the beer you can drink.we have a few raffles to pay the bills.the winner gets a trouphy and some money,we do it so the local fishermen can make a few dollars and have a good time.the fishermen bring their familys to the party.
